Threads 03:34
Picture a world where we're upside down the threads of our lives strewn across the ground Napoleon won, and you stayed home just when I waited for you Roosevelt walked and you turned your head just when I might catch your eye Barbarians ruled with Rome overran the phone by your bed it just ran If we could jump sideways and change our world what would it be? I think I'd still stay here and thread with you The pyramids fell, Atlantis rose Edward kept his throne, Hendrix grew old the night that we met you forgot your phone train stuck underground, we went home alone The Queen disappeared, it was De Gaulle who attacked Columbus got lost, Red Cloud took it back Sometimes I still think, what would be it be if life went so differently? Swam through it all to find the thread that you're on I swam through it all to find the thread

Release 03:12
She says I always knew a better place lay beyond what seemed like an endless plain of you But the part that I did not know she says as she wipes her hands clean was just how close that horizon lay So easy to dream of sunshine so easy to punch a hole through this darkened canopy you've chained me to I always felt time bleeding out she says as she grips the wheel turns out she's staring, waiting for me How many years living, cowering believing you held my key then I made you vanish as you did me So easy to drink the sunshine so easy to rip myself free turns out you're easy to release And now I can swim in waters I drowned so easy to smile when you're looking down Now when they light my rear view I don't freak I just press down push harder until you just recede

about

2 new synthrock-y jams from The Eargoggle, the first in a planned monthly offering of singles (and singles means two songs- A side, B side, remember??) from the Kingston, NY-based songmaker. "Threads" ponders the 'what-if's' of the alternate universes created by every choice we make, while the noir-ish 'Release' is a dark yet triumphant snapshot of a woman speeding away after ending an abusive relationship by rather...extreme measures.
