Tall 03:41
It doesn't matter at all when you're 8 feet tall you can stand anywhere you like in the back of the club or way off to the side nobody's ever gonna make you hide Make you hide You can swim with all the fishes in the wide wide sea you can swim with anyone you like you can circle around from the north pole down you'll never find another me nother me the world looks the same through your window pane all the reds turn to shades of grey but step outside to the blinding light see the colors of your life of your life
2.
Penny Says 02:52
Penny Says the rich girls are leaving could you be a little more deceiving don't go talking bout the government don't ask them where the money went and now we are confined to our corner we watch the world go by across the border so many lives shining on display we're only here to make you feel this way I know why you want me here helps you to disappear and while we're eating crumbs in her pantry she says I hired you so I'd look fancy don't play that song about the boys at war play something light that we can all adore I know why you want me near your whole life seems bright and clear I know why you want me here helps you to disappear and now we head for home or somewhere trashy stuff our drums and guitars in the backseat she says the guests loved every one of you please avoid them in the vestibule
3.
Backwards 03:00
Well I feel I'm going backwards with you again my love words on the page floating down from above should have known the way this started it never would last every word we say seems to come from the past You say you're going with me but I can't remember when it all blurs together like my lovers and friends did we stay for the weekend did we sleep through the week all I know is we've been here before all I know is we'll be here again Sometimes we move forward sometimes we move back I know i could save this if I had one more track When everything is bouncing around in my head I get tired of your noise, I want silence instead
4.
Ride 04:16
Ride Time to take a ride, now that everything is quiet and even these old avenues sparkle in moonlight I had to cut the power, sawed through all the wires, I know it's something criminal but I needed one more time to drink the world in, feel it in my skin without the complicated connectedness of it all I'm well aware this will be my last time around the isle I head uptown a thousand sirens scream away behind Remember how it was, we had to fall in love take a stand become who we are without a guiding hand you make the choice for me, conveniences you see but what if I don't want these golden cages built for me? tonight I speed on, finally alone it sounds extreme but this was the only way I know I push the pedal down, inside there is no sound but rustling air and silence like a cloister from the past I drink it in the last sips of the life I've left behind steer off the drive head towards the water on the 125 Behind they're closing in, and up ahead the end beckons me to crash through the barrier and then greet the other side while naked in my mind I leave the way I came, leave it all behind It fades away the icy water closing in above my legacy stolen moments of reality
5.
Hero 02:21
Hero I think I know how this one is supposed to go the hero gets the girl, saves the world, profits unfurl I think I've seen every part of this onscreen the sequels scream, tie in to my adolescent dreams But what if the hero doesn't show? he's late, or maybe he's me I'd rather be bored, hit record, drive an old Ford in a parking lot Spin my wheels, kick some dust all over your shoes than fatten your bottom line again be your thousandth friend, swear I'll never do it again This is the scene with the big reveal the hero lied he's just an ordinary guy What happens after the end? do they all stay friends, though they didn't really know each other at all does the hero keep them together though he's not who he said he was he's not who he said he'd be this is the frame where the movie ends it fades to black and we pretend again
6.
Fire Today 05:06
Fire Today I'm on fire today, don't think I want to put it out You're on fire you say, please let us help you put it out Please hear what I say, let the flames just burn and work it out You don't know what you say, let us help you put it out I feel more alive with the flames licking up into my skin You're on fire today, you don't know where you are or what you're in I'm a liar today, but I don't think I war to work it out You're a liar you say, you should have told us so we could help you out Please hear what I say, my stories are only truth to me You're a liar you see, do you know where you end where you begin I'm a liar today, or is this just a trick to draw us out? I believe all the words in my head sickness to me is like a book I've never read pages float into the breeze let's tear them off instead and live as if we never understood I'm alone today but i think I like to feel this way You're alone today, let us find someone for you, OK It's not such a fail, to open eyes with no one there Please wait we'll be there, we'll find someone don't venture out I'm not running you see, in fact I live quite comfortably you're alone you say who can we call to help you out I'm on fire today, I know I'm not gonna put it out you're a liar today, you will let us help you put it out I'm alone today and I've gotten to like my life this way you're a liar today, just look at us all here helping out
7.
Canyon 01:47
I pound my spikes into the canyon wall I make my bed up where the eagles crawl I like to get right to the edge and then look around and watch the world spin In conclusion I might not be what you're looking for Up here among the wind and accidents I crawl up to the top where mountains bend dig my fingers into rock and bone if they give I will be moving on In conclusion this might not quite be the life for you But oh the feeling when you never know If you'll soar or plummet far below with all your blood red tape you'll never know In conclusion I'll let you get back to your review
8.
Crowd 02:40
Crowd I know you're not so fond of crowds I know they can be rather loud Like an army in your brain I wish they'd all just go insane But look around you'll find another side to everything There's no way to recognize the different cells on the inside You stand alone you stand above you stand within they will see none And like the man with the rabbit hat you'll disappear Only if you want to
9.
Continental Drift Up here in the frozen ground we plant the flag and look for evidence your heart has been here before to uncover the truth can you feel the way it was with me when we lay here as one can you see the way things used to be when we lay here as one we scrape beneath the ice and rock to find ourselves again and you know you were here long ago you still wear me today your skin rubbed itself off on me as mine did on yours the expedition has found what it came for ancient crevasses that line the ocean floor this separation that we live with in our lives is temporary just meet me on the shore

Still 03:05
If you could breathe underwater what do you think you would see? A day at the beach and the starfish swimming or another lonely world underneath strap on your wings, soar to the clouds watch as you fall back down You might be a little afraid But you'll pick up speed all the same Everybody wants something for nothing don't you? Everybody wants someone and no one like me ride on the rails till the end of the line arrive in a city so strange they still wander here and there still gather themselves there still love in the light there like me
12.
Winter Fall 02:57
Winter Fall I know what to say about it all but sometimes I keep things to myself and then I overflow, like a plastic volcano bubbling over everybody's shoes I see the winter and the fall fade in the rearview once again we made tracks in all the snow, leading where we did not know branches of our lives stretching above the years fall away like the wine we all drift further and we're fine the only place we meet again, is in that field that's in our heads remind us of our friend there once again
13.
You’re Feeling Like And now your life's a roman candle burning so bright too hot to handle highs are so high and the lows feel low we tried to tell you a better way to go pick up the pieces and go back to square one tighten the knot before it comes undone words bounced right off we never saw you land flew through the air to make us understand I know what you're feeling like when you're out of sight now Don't think you know what it's like to be here today now And now the years roll by without you so many bouquets no one to throw to story we thought was only starting turns out we were all reading the ending songs that you sung and the words that you said coming alive only in my head I know the songs that you sang the bells that you rang now But you won't ever know me you won't even see now I know the songs that you sing they're about nothing and still it all stings now
